Wesley Hutchinson founded Satworks in 2013 after working in telecommunications and satellite installation. His career began as an engineer in 2006, including work with NTL and Sky, followed by a role with Virgin Media. That practical background shaped Satworks’ approach to engineering: assess the site, choose a workable installation, complete it safely and give customers a clear handover.
From field engineer to a nationwide installation business
Satworks began as a small operation serving customers who needed reliable satellite connectivity. It grew into a nationwide installation business working across residential and commercial projects. The company has experience with geostationary satellite services as well as newer low Earth orbit systems. Its work includes home installations, business connectivity and more complex field deployments.
As Managing Director, Wesley leads the company’s direction and its development of engineering services. The business combines field teams, customer coordination, technical assessment and health and safety processes to deliver work at scale. Satworks’ current Starlink installation partnership and nationwide recruitment reflect that expansion; exact services and available appointments should always be checked on the relevant service pages.
Work and independent coverage
Satworks’ appointment as Starlink’s sole UK installation partner was reported by ISPreview in July 2026. Wesley has also led Satworks’ work on CLEOI installation standards, drawing on the practical requirements of field engineering and safety.
An engineering-led approach
Wesley’s experience covers installations as well as the practical challenges around them: access, mounting, cabling, service activation, support and customer experience. The same principles apply whether the job is at a family home or a busy commercial site. A design only succeeds if it fits the location and can be maintained safely after installation.
