Health & Safety

In order to ensure the implementation of this policy the Director accepts that he is the Person Responsible for Health and Safety.

commited to safety

Health & Safety

At Satellite and Terrestrial Works Ltd, we take health and safety seriously. It’s a normal part of how we run the business and plan our work, not something separate.

We aim to carry out all of our work safely, whether that’s a straightforward job or a more complex installation.

How we work

In day-to-day terms, we:

  • Use equipment and tools that are suitable for the job and kept in good condition
  • Plan our work properly, including Starlink installations, so risks are reduced as much as possible
  • Carry out risk assessments where needed, especially when working at height
  • Handle and move materials safely
  • Make sure the team has the right information, training and support to do the job properly
  • Keep communication clear on site so everyone knows what’s going on

Our team

Everyone working for us is expected to take a common-sense approach to safety. This includes:

  • Following safe working methods
  • Using the correct PPE
  • Speaking up if something doesn’t look right
  • Reporting hazards or issues so they can be dealt with

Standards

We work to recognised industry standards and hold:

  • SMAS (SSIP) accreditation
  • ISO 45001 certification

These reflect how we manage health and safety across the business.

Responsibility

Overall responsibility sits with the Director, who makes sure this approach is followed and reviewed as the business develops.

This is how we currently operate and we will continue to improve it as our work and responsibilities grow.
